Top Hits at The Onyx Room – August Edition
The Onyx Room is committed to playing the latest and hottest songs period. We’ve got the songs that make our club go crazy. Here are some of our favorites:
1. Needed Me - Rihanna
This is seriously the anthem for the ladies. If you’re at Onyx for girls’ night out, you will definitely be shaking it to this tune. Rihanna is always up to a new sound and owns her own creative flow. There’s a reason her name is badgalriri
2. Panda - Desiigner
Desiigner hit the scene hard when Kanye West discovered him. This New York rapper talks about his “broads in Atlanta”, but we’ll let you in on a little secret: he’s never actually been to Atlanta. This song hooks you from first the listen. Another secret: it only took Desiigner two days to write the hook!
3. Controlla - Drake
Drake’s new album has some serious staying power, if Controlla has anything to say about it. This is a catchy track that breaks down barriers between dancehall and electronic. The reggaeton, afro-beats make this hit more diverse than his recently popular “Hotling Bling”.
4. Work - Rihanna
No “best of” list would be complete if it wasn’t full of Rihanna songs. The baddest woman in music has been dropping bangers for years, and Work is a solid addition to her resume. As the first single off ANTI, Work has stayed extremely popular since it’s release in January. Drake is featured on this chill and tropical song.
5. Too Good - Drake & Rihanna
Drake and Rihanna are a truly powerful combination in music right now. Almost everything they touch turns to dance-gold. Too Good can be added to the list of reasons why Drake and Rihanna are taking over the world. This song will keep you dancing the entire time, all the way through to the outro featuring Popcaan.
6. Ginza - J Bavin
Columbian singer J Bavin brought us Ginza last year, and it’s still holding up as a hit. The latin reggaeton beat is impossible not to dance to. This powerful song crossed the barrier of language and has enjoyed popularity among native english-speakers. That’s how great this tune is!
7. Hasta el Amanecer - Nicky Jam
Nicky Jam brought us this amazing reggaeton beat early this year, and we still can’t get enough. This song makes everyone in the club jump on the dance floor with its smooth seductive sound.
8. One Dance - Drake
It’s not every day a rapper releases a song this sexy and romantic. One Dance was heavily influenced by Nigerian afrobeats giving it a unique sound. Drake takes hints from many different genres of music to create this must-dance-to song.
